Hokies #6

The Hokies after losing to Alabama in Atlanta have jumped back out to #6 in the country and could be looking to climb even higher in the weeks to come. After beating #9 Miami in a very rainy Blacksburg the Hokies absolutely dominated from the start. The Hokies have also found their Heisman contender in Ryan Williams. Who as of right now has the most rushing yards in the ACC and has 8 touchdowns which leads all backs in the conference. The offense looked a lot better than it has in the past few weeks. The Miami win was very satisfying because of the hype Miami was getting. The Canes jumped from #20 to #9 in one week after a great win against Georgia Tech. Personally I thought that was a bit of a overrated ranking but hey I don't have a vote. Miami is a very good team, and they have a great young QB and very fast defense. However it is not their time to take the ACC crown away from the Hokies. Virginia Tech has now put themselves in a shot at the national championship. We are the most legit one loss team in the country and we are sitting behind a Boise State team who is ranked #5 and most likely will not improve that ranking because of their strength of schedule. The Hokies have to continue to put out all around around games like they did against Miami. If the Hokies play like they did last Saturday and win out I see no reason why they could not have a shot at the National Title in Pasedena.

Sick

This is what I felt the entire game today during the Lions. I honestly don't know what to say. I could sit and rant, rave, throw my T.V out the window, burn my Redskins gear, tell myself the season is over, we suck, we suck, we suck. But I can't.. and this is why. Not only was Sunday's domination by Detroit unbearable to watch it made me just sick. I don't even know what to say.. what is there to say anymore about this franchise??? Maybe I have to vent a tad. Possibly because we invest to much in these guys. Constantly I'm am hackled by opposing team fans about how this is a retirement home for players such as Mr.Millions up top ^. And it bothers me because to an extent it seems honestly true. We as Redskins fans are diehard. I'm very bias but a diehard Redskin fan is one of the best fans you will ever find. We watch this team every week, we win with this team, lose with the team, go through so much bullshit every Sunday just to come back the next week and hope and wish that we will win. What sucks is I actually had my Dad tell me in joking fashion that he was "sorry he raised me to be a Skins fan." I laughed I'm not upset of my team choice. I'm upset that there is so much wrong with this organization there can be no finger pointed at one such thing. It isn't just the coach, it isn't just the Quarterback, or the O-line, or the Defense. It is all of this combined and the ownership of Daniel Snyder. I know Dan loves this team, he wants to win and to be honest I know he is a passionate and a good guy. But this just isn't working. None of this has worked and it won't work for a long time if this is how the team is going to be operated. I see talent and everything but the overpaying of guys and the lack of heart this team shows now makes me want to puke. D-Hall made a statement today about how a lot of these guys just don't want it. They seem like they don't care. And damn could I not agree more. It seems like none of the players give a crap if they win or lose. They can laugh to the bank win or lose. I know thats not the case for every player no way. I know they "want " to win, they're athletes. Today was a prime of example of everyone looking dead. It just seemed like there was no fire, no rhythm, no anything.... I honestly can't rant anymore. I honestly don't know what to expect the next few weeks with this team. I guess were just all going to have to wait and see. Night guys, sorry for the rough game. Oh and congrats Lions you wanted it more you got it.

Week 3: Redskins - Lions

Week 3 is finally here. My weekend has absolutely been awesome so far I hope the Redskins don't screw it up. Virginia Tech crushed the not so good Canes and now I would love to see the Redskins do the same to the Lions. This is a put up or shut up game for Jim Zorn. He has to call a good game and the offense has to put points on the board. No more "were close", or " the plays didn't work." This is the LIONS! They have a 18 game losing streak. You can't over analyze this game at all. If our offense can put points up, minimize turnovers and play solid on defense, we will win this game. Jason played solid in the last game in my opinion. I liked how he stepped up and threw the ball very well. I want that same production with more points. I also want Devin Thomas and Santana to get the ball. Also where is Fred Davis, I heard so much good about him why isn't he getting the ball. Clinton needs some touches to because him being effective running the ball always opens up some deep threats. This should be our day Skin's fans, please don't let the Lions snap their losing streak against us. Lets get them today and possibly blow them out pleaaaaaaaaaaaase! Enjoy the game everyone!

Hokies vs Miami

So here it is the day before the biggest game of the season for my Hokies. They face the Canes who have played outstanding to start the season to say the least. They are #9 as VT is playing at Lane Stadium ranked #11. I've said this for years and I will say it now.. Tech needs to move the football to beat this team. They have to run the ball with Ryan Williams and establish a rhythm. No more 3 and outs. The Defense is under a lot of heat for its awful run defense this season. Well thats mainly because the offense never stays on the field. The defense time in and time out bails them out. To win this game Tech has to dominate time of possesion, run the ball effectively and try to get the ball vertical. Now I will give credit when credit is due. This Miami team is nasty, their offense is unpredictable, they're fast, they will come out swinging. I just hope my Hokies can use the best fans in college football to help them. Its going to be a wet one too, rain in the forecast. This might help slow Miamis offense down a tad... hopefully. This means it might be a defensive slugfest and a running battle. I think we have the edge. Lets hope we can pull this out. Lets GOOO HOKIES!

Jim Zorn

After being able to sleep on the Rams game a bit more I started wondering more and more about the Redskins struggles. Now before I go on about my main topic in Jim Zorn let me bring up an issue I was hearing about the fans booing after the game. Robert Henson a rookie already showed displeasure toward Redskin fans on his Twitter. Chris Cooley also showed displeasure about the fan's response. However I can't take the players side in this. This is what fans do. In D.C it is tough this isn't the Miami Dolphins. Redskin Faithful spend hundreds of dollars, on overpriced tickets, beer, food, parking passes, jerseys, all so these guys on the sideline who don't play for example Robert Henson to make his way over inflated, unearned rookie salary. And he has the nerve to blast fans for booing after the offense put up 9 points on a team that I guarantee is in the running for the #1 draft pick next April. I'm sticking up for the fans in this one. The Seahawks who are not going to the Superbowl I guarantee it beat the Rams by 28 points last week??!!!! Whats the reason we can't do that?? Why can't we punch it in? It's simple its Jim Zorn. This was the game that clearly showed are lack of solid play calling in the redzone. It was pathetic no other words can describe it. If the Redskins and Jim Zorn are happy with 3 field goals on quite possible the worst team in the league then we have a long season ahead. The 9-7 victory doesn't even feel like a win it actually feels like a loss in a weird way. Like I said yesterday its sooooo unsatisfying . It's like eating your favorite food at a restaurant and your eating it thinking yeah its ok but damn not for what I'm paying for it, its not good at all. I agree with Chris Cooley after the game he said were so close to breaking out, so close to punching it in. They are a confident team and I do like that. But let me say this I loved how our offense moved the ball yesterday. I think Jason looked great, and I mean confident, stepping up in the pocket, throwing the ball on a rope. He looked really good, and so did Chris, Portis, Randel El and so on. Jim Zorn was the problem yesterday, he takes no accountability for his mistakes in the play calling. One thing i loved and respected about my favorite coach of all time Joe Gibbs... he called out his mistakes. He took blame for what he did wrong, and thats what Jim has to learn. Sometimes it is your fault. Jason and the offense were playing well enough yesterday to throw atleast 24 points on the board. I'm venting because I can't stand this anymore. Redskin fans love this team to much, spend way to much energy, time, finances to support this team just to get a nail biting performance every week. Can we PLEASE get a win that is comfortable and doesn't have me sitting on the couch sweating to beat the Rams. Props to the Defense hell of a job. Horton played nasty, Albert was clogging up holes. We played very good which is what I expect out of them. Now Zorn needs to step in and put these guys who are obviously capable and talented in a position to be successful in the redzone. Until we start doing that it is going to be a long year.

Week 2: The Rams

Well that was probably the weirdest game I've seen in awhile. It has got to be the most unsatisfying win in awhile. Obviously the D stepped up and held the Rams back and not allowing any points in the second half. That last stand we made after giving all the momentum over to the Rams on that awful 4 and 1 call. Hayneworth stepped up so did Orakpo which was nice. Horton made a hell of a play at the end to seal it. Now if you look at the statistics especially for the Offense we moved the ball and did it well. We controlled the game nicely. Chris Cooley, Portis and Campbell all played solid. Kelly also looked nice today. I think Betts came in and also added some solid runs especially that screen that went for a big gain. Our main problem today was punching the ball in. We can't accept field goals, we will never be a great team with those types of efforts. And if we put that effort in the redzone next week in Detroit we will lose. We were lucky today no doubt about it. I hope we can fix some things this week and get better. We pulled one out of our asses today Skin fans.. lets hope we don't have to go through that again this season. But a win is a win try to enjoy it as much as possible. Atleast you don't have to go to work tommorow with the feeling that we lost to the Lambs. I'll be back soon. Hail From Haupt!

Preview: The Rams

Simple enough we want a win and bad. Yes it is the second week of the season but this is a win we have to get. Last year to the Rams we lost a frustrating, almost unbelievable game. Well we did 19-17. Now its time for a little bit of revenge at home in Fed Ex. I'm hoping for a Jason Campbell unleashing with Clinton Portis doing work on the ground. Our Defense has to come to play and make an impact early. I'd love to see a bunch of turnovers and pressure on Marc Bulger. Lets hope we can get it done today we need it. My Predictions: Redskins- 34 Rams-17. HAIL!

The Worst Fantasy Football Draft

Hey everyone I'm sitting here on the brink of going out and partying when I forgot to set my fantasy football team lineup. Well I loved the news that LT is out this week but that wasn't the least of my concerns. Few weeks ago I was supposed to participate in 2 live drafts for both my leagues. Well I forgot to draft and I forgot to pre-rank my players to assure I atleast got someone that I wanted. Now don't get me wrong I have 2 good squads going into the 09 season however if your like me I hate getting Cowboy players. It pisses me off so much. I've had "redskin" fans tell me ahhh its no big deal. But I have the amazing Tony Romo as my quarterback in not one but both my leauges. Wonderful.. but I did what I would hope a majority of Skin fans would do... your right slap his ass right on the bench and put in my boy JC. So I did now please Jason do me justice. Romos playing the Giants who we looked so wonderful against last week and were playing the St. Louis Lambs. If Jason doesn't throw for 350 and 3 TD's I might cry. But I'm banking on my Skins this weekend. Oh and please check out that email Chris Cooley got from Joeseph. Its on his blog site absolutely hilarious. I'm out for the night. Later

The Warpath

Now I know there are great redskins websites and fan sites. But I wanted to shout out to the thewarpath.net the best Redskin fan site anywhere. Matty and all the admins do a great job keeping the site awesome. I go there everyday to check up on the latest Redskin news and hear opinions from the greatest fans in the world. Just wanted to show some love to the Warpath!
Hail!!!

Week 1. The Giants

I as most Skin fans had mixed feelings on Week 1. Some things looked good and at times we just looked terrible. But it is what it is. We lost and after a few days of dismay it wore off. Some things I noticed that we didn't do to well on are the following

- Tackling: I'll be the first to admit I complain a lot about my beloved Redskins more than anyone but god we could not tackle to save our life. Mario Manningham ran through us like we were pee wee football players. Thank you Fred Smoot, and D-Hall for your wonderful efforts.

- Jason Campbell- Now before you jump on my ass for this let me explain. Jason played solidly especially out of the Shotgun. Zorn I hope and pray you let JC do his thing this week. Let him sling it and show what he has. It is time right now for both JC and Zorn to unleash something. Jason just get rid of the ball though on time please....

- Wide Recievers???- Where the hell was Santana, Kelly, and Thomas the whole game. I just don't understand this. Why could we not get some of these guys the ball. Randel El had almost 100 yards recieving. He hasn't had that many yards in 2 years. We have to find some way to spread the ball around or it will be another long year. Coughhh Cougghh bring in Marko cough cough.

Upsides!!!

- Albert Haynesworth- Ok everyone he is HUMAN after all hes not going to have 5 sacks a game and have 20 tackles but he was solid. Thats what I wanted to see. He stood up Brandon Jacobs on that 4 and inches basically by himself. That was his play. Yes he did take breaks but he played around 70 percent of all the snaps. It was the first game let him catch up to speed. But every Redskin fan has to understand this. Its like wresting your brother. You use all you strength for around 2 or 3 minutes and afterwards your winded. Thats what AH does every play. You'd get tired too trust me. I like what I see from him so far. Oh and Orakpo needs to get out of that SAM linebacker i can't stand it.

- Chris Cooley

My favorite Redskin by far. Absolutely love his blog and if you don't read it your gay. The guy brings it every week, he loves this team and these fans. Works hard and had a solid game Sunday. Bring in a few more TD's for me this week vs the Rams.

- London Fletcher

This guy not going to any Pro Bowls makes me sick to my stomach. This guy is a machine. He is such a force on our Defense. 18 tackles on Sunday good job. If he doesn't make the Pro Bowl this year than the NFL is a disgrace.

The Redskins next game is versus the St.Louis Rams I hope that this shouldn't be to tough for us.. but you never know. If you don't recall last year we lost to them in one of the worst played games I had ever seen. But were 0-1 and we need to get back in the mix again. Lets hope we can enjoy a nice blow out and actually not lose hair going into the 4th quarter. I know right now I have no followers on this website. I'm brand new but if you enjoy this let me know I really appreciate it!
